Well, it’s official! We have recently launched our first public Mystery Art League event in Franklin, TN on October 1!! I enjoyed taking in the experience of the Franklin Art Crawl with friends. There was a great crowd that evening, and we got to catch a few people playing the MAL game.
Seeing it in action, I’m really excited to make a few tweaks and plan for the next event. In fact, we plan on adding some new elements inside the Franklin game in preparation for the November Art Crawl. Make sure you are following the MAL on Instagram, Youtube, and Facebook, or at least signed up for the MAL newsletter, so you can stay informed about the new things we have coming out! New games will mean more opportunities to win prizes.
Some of those will be conducted at the event in person and in addition some will be held online. It’s all about enjoying the art and solving the riddles:)
On the same weekend as the Franklin Art Crawl, I had two other events.
One of those was the Four Artist TN exhibit at Blue Fig Gallery. We had a pretty good turnout for our small works show entitled “Time for Growth.” It was really nice seeing all of our work hanging salon-style. If you are in the area and interested in seeing the exhibit, let me know. It will be in the space up until October 16. The gallery isn’t open regular hours, but we can arrange to meet if you are interested.
The other event I had artwork was the Nashville Collage Collective‘s annual exhibit at Turnip Green Creative Reuse. This show has a nice variety of collage and mixed media works from over 20 artists. I love that I get to create something outside my normal medium, with some amazing people. The image in this post is actually my collage for the exhibit. This piece is titled “Give or Take.” It’s a reference to a story a friend told me about a broken pencil. I’m not going to tell the story, but you can send me a note if you’d like to hear it. This exhibit will be up until October 30.
As for my current studio time, I’ll be working on new work for the next MAL and for the next Four Artist TN exhibit. We should have a new MAL in November and the next Four Artist exhibit will be in May 2022, at the Emporium Art Center in Knoxville, TN. If things go as planned, I’ll be in the studio more than I have of late, and that will allow me to be a little more active posting on my blog and creating videos for YouTube. I hope you’ll follow along.
That’s all for now. I appreciate you taking time to read my blog and look forward to meeting you at one of my events, or at least chatting through one of the platforms I share my work. Have a great week! RLP
