It’s almost time for me to head to South Carolina to instal/complete my entry for ArtFileds2019. I can’t wait to instal my piece titled “Clown Off The Clock.” I’ll be in Lake City, SC this weekend April the 5th and 6th. This will be the largest work I’ve done using my ink transfer on beeswax method. It will be only the third time I’ve finished a piece in front of an audience. This always makes me a little nervous. With my process there can be some unwanted surprises, but it seems I always make it work. I’m guessing this will be the same, things will end up just fine. If you’re not in the area and would like to watch me work, watch me on one of my social outlets (I may do it on YouTube live, but will also post some time-lapse on others). If you do see my videos, please like, share, comment. That would be a great help! The actual ArtFields Event will take place from April 26th-May5th. Find more info at https://www.artfieldssc.org
I wish I could be at the ArtFields event, but I’ll be in Nashville at another show. This will be my third year at the Harding Art Show, which runs from May 2nd through the 4th. I feel fortunate to have two great events going on at the same time. For more about Harding you can go to http://www.thehardingartshow.com
And on last bit of great news, I have recently been invited to show my work at a gallery in Louisville, KY called Craft(s) Gallery and Mercantile. This is a cool space that has two areas. One is a fine art gallery and the other has lots of handmade craft items, from textiles to pottery. Go by and check them out if you’re in the area, and look for me to be there at one of the future art crawls giving a demo of my process. See more at https://craftslouisville.com
Please let me know if have any questions about these events or my work. You can also learn more about me and my process on my website; https://randylpurcell.com (It’s currently under construction, but still has a lot of good info).
Thank you for reading about my happenings!
