Alone in the Studio: Sharing Thoughts, Process, and Paint

Not sure I’ve mentioned this here before, but I’ve been growing my YouTube channel—a space where I share a closer look at my encaustic painting process and some of the thoughts that come up while I work.

Recently, I started a new series called “Alone in the Studio.” These short, unscripted videos give me a chance to talk about everything from creative routines to the little details that go into being a full-time artist. Sometimes it’s about technique or materials, but often it’s just about the ideas, challenges, and joys that come with making art.

In my latest episode, I talk about two things I’ve started including with my paintings: a Portfolio Sheet and a Caring for Your Painting sheet. The Portfolio Sheet gives collectors a glimpse into the story or meaning behind each piece—why I painted it and what inspired it. The Caring Sheet, attached to the back of the artwork, helps collectors know how to preserve their piece so it stays beautiful for years to come.

If you’re curious about the process behind my work—or just enjoy hearing an artist’s thoughts while they create—I’d love for you to check out the channel. You can find the videos on YouTube and, if you like them, please share them with a friend who might enjoy a peek inside the studio.

Thanks for following along on this creative journey.
